i feel like being closeted her entire career has been a major reason why she’s been able to interweave fact and fiction so effortlessly into her art. she writes very ambiguously, yet also very vividly. and a lot of that is because she has to if she wants to actually be able to sing about her life.

and then the way the set design intertwined with that of the anti-hero music video and the house we see there is interesting too if you consider each of taylor’s parts to be welcoming the house with new furniture as the arrive. the house being her mind and the furniture her personality!

yes, god. the eras callbacks to ophelia are everywhere. she drives into the water, then she comes out into the clouds via a ladder (magazine). it’s all too perfect and so well executed. in the music video i love how we not only get a variety of queer flags woven in, but we also get many for bearding

the fate of ophelia was so beautiful. i really felt like that tied the entire story together while providing us with new themes and perspectives to understand. midnights is a book to me. ttpd and showgirl are two perspectives from two of the main characters in the book. the third we meet with TS13.

yes, i totally feel as though lavender haze is overlooked. it’s just as important as the other recent music videos imo. i have discussed this a lot before and you can find my thoughts under my pinned post but i see lavender haze as the “finale” so to speak. it’s when we see the facade burnt down
