Agreed. I'm a peer specialist, and they really stopped me while I was getting my training to say, "You're not an autistic person. You're a person with Autism diagnosis." And I was like... No. I don't understand why just asking a person how they prefer to be referred to isn't the standard.

Yeah you're probably right. And thank you. This is the second time this has happened to me though, but with a different friend group so I know the Commonality is me. I either need to work on myself or just stop putting in the amount of effort I put into other's needs and wants. Probably both.
