also a story being 'confusing' as a successful execution of putting us in the same space as the hero vs confusing because its a poorly written/executed movie are so different. It's so rewarding for me to be as lost as the hero and trying to solve the story along with them. it creates immersion.

Iron Lung did just get a run extension, so it'll still be out this upcoming weekend as well!

the type of horror this movie is going for is also specifically in the realm of "i am not being told the entire truth/i do not have autonomy", anxiety over being in a fragile container in a hostile environment, etc. So lack of spoon feeding info is the point!!

It allows ME room to build parts of the word in my own mind. It makes the story stick around longer, because I'm still thinking about it. All together really strong first feature length film, Markiplier. I'm really proud of you and your team for what y'all accomplished here. ✨

I dunno I come from the school of Hediaki Anno levels of "fuck you figure it out" so maybe this is just a type of story telling I prefer? But for me I enjoy filling in informational gaps myself.

I keep hearing people saying the movie is confusing, or you have to know about the source game before watching the movie, and I disagree. It's a pretty simple premise, and it trusts that you can infer enough from details given to get the idea.

It's such a great example of how little you need to make a good film. How understanding fundamentals of the medium will always be better than a huge VFX budget. When you give a shit about movies the one you work on turns out good! what a wild concept!

Markiplier is one of those folks I've always been aware of but never ended up getting hardcore into his work. But seeing him break through the insanely bought out movie industry made me wanna go to root for him. And I enjoyed the movie!

I do feel like the internet was more of an Activity in the 90s/00s. It had more of the "wikipedia rabbit hole" vibe of 'oh, I like this person's website, what links do they share?' and on and on and on. More exploratory.

nice! I find all iterations of Trigun really great in their own way. HIGHLY recommend the manga if you find yourself enjoying the animated series'. the 90s show had to gecko at the time, but hey now you get three distinct takes on the same general premise, haha.

oh are you watching the one from the 90s? or the new CG one?
