Can’t help but think that if Starmer was more focused on what’s good for the country and the HE sector here that he’d be taking advantage of this kind of surge in applications too.

I’ve only missed one Eurovision since my first one in 1990.
I was fully prepared to boycott the whole thing next year when Israel were sitting at the top. UK public vote handing 12 points to Israel was only marginally sweetened by an LGBTQ+ winner. Congratulations Austria #eurovision2025

The right actually lost votes in the election. All the Reform gains were cancelled out by the Tory losses--with a difference of a whole one (1) seat. And Labour running as a right wing party lost 160-odd seats, while Lib Dems and Greens won more even than that loss. The electorate moved to the left.
