Who in sodomy wrote that?
Tree’s up. Usual suspects. #EverythingAndSeveralKitchenSinks

We have snacks, drinks and Scandi Christmas music. It’s time to put up the tree. 🎄

Len’s like, it’s nice to meet you but how am I supposed to work out with you guys here?
November 29, 2025 at 7:36 PM
Here’s the whole gang in Len’s [still unfinished] barre studio.

Mary and Joseph, wearing Big L’s old pillowcase. Someone else is making Baby Jesus (out of cotton wool) so I am DONE.
November 29, 2025 at 7:22 PM
A couple of ropey shepherds for the work nativity scene. The recycled elements are robes made from Farrers’ old cords, belts made of string salvaged from packaging and crooks made from the wire cage that held a cork in some alcohol free plonk. Just Mary and Joseph to go.

And number three. There’s one tall one so I’m calling them The Beverley Sisters.

Pretty sure this one wants you to cross its palm with silver.

We’re doing a recycled Christmas craft competition in work and my team’s making a nativity. The others are making the stable, manger, star, animals etc. and I’ve been asked to make Meece-based nativity characters. This is the first of the magi. Repurposed mouse and sari scraps.

Need to prime and paint them but I made Len some dumbbells.

Went to Wickes, which is already the best day ever, and on the way back saw this lad, who I think is a red kite.

6 or 9 recessed lights, though? Help. The ceiling’s the real life equivalent of 2m x 2.3m ish. I’m using LED string lights taped in place above the ceiling as the light source.

While waiting for the 3rd coat of varnish to dry on the barre studio floor I’ve cut the walls, floor and ceiling for the cocktail bar. Imagine walnut floor, bird wallpaper, recessed lighting in the ceiling (hence the gap). Len’s like, “Come on, I can touch the ceiling ffs,” but I’m excited about it.

Anyway, something cool happened to me this week. @abbuccitelli.bsky.social contacted me to ask if he can use a photo of my cross stitched Rickroll QR code as ‘an example of the variability of rickrolls’ in an academic book about digital technology and folklore. Something to tell the grandkids.

Just mitred a miniature skirting board, in case you were worrying that I’m taking this 1/6 scale barre studio thing too seriously…
November 22, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Turned the room upside down and the little scrote was hiding on the side of the studio.

Len’s barre arrived and it’s a great fit for the eyelets. And she has a locker to keep her clothes in, if she ever gets any… And thinking ahead to her cocktail bar, these eyelets will hopefully make pretty convincing recessed lighting. Farrers reckons Len’s giving off Breakfast Club vibes here.

Meant to show you the photo of mine. Duh.
November 21, 2025 at 6:51 PM
More Len Things have arrived. Gas strut eyelets for the wall mounted barre and a 60ml bottle to make a water cooler.

Floorboards are down permanently and sanded. A couple of little gaps are annoying me but a blind man on a flying horse… Stained a few offcuts to test the colour of the stain and… I don’t like it. I was going for the colours in the screenshot but I don’t think it works. So, clear satin varnish.
November 16, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Just need to stick this down and stain it now. Tomorrow.
November 15, 2025 at 8:12 PM
Getting there. Just need to cut and sand the irregular bits for that right hand side and then I can get them stuck down and stained.
November 15, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Two hundred and twenty (220) miniature floorboards. Just to sand the edges now. I knew those 4000 emery boards I bought in France would come in useful one day.

Cutting three strips at a time is speeding things up a bit.
