Never dared stop there! It looks terrifying. I usually stop at Heckington, if I need to. Or I just keep my head down, the windows shut, and keep going…

Hello! Currently writing fantasy and historical fiction; got a fantasy novel self-published, another and a histfic in editing, and another histfic in progress.
I also help to write walking and local history guides to the Peak District - I know all manner of random shit about Derbyshire...

I rapidly became (still am) very profligate with the block and mute buttons, maybe that has saved me from the worst of it. But yeah, the few times a post blew up it’s been brutal until I shut things down. Does that not happen here too, though?

Nope. Absolutely morally bankrupt, and seemingly intent on taking everyone else down too. Unconscionable.

I’m so confused by everything here. I’d just got Threads pretty much figured out, too… 😒

Ah, it’s a grim journey, isn’t it? So many interesting smells along the route, too - Newark always seems to be particularly fragrant. 😒

Hello! May follow suit, although the thought of rebuilding here from scratch is ... exhausting... Good to see you here, though.

Oh god, this. I'm. So. Very. Tired.

I also produce walking guides to my beloved Peak District - most recently about Bakewell, Chatsworth and Haddon, but also Buxton, the Matlocks, Cromford, the High Peak and Tissington Trails, and the Hope and Goyt Valleys, among others. They're also available in my Etsy shop. 4/

Aiming to add at least one more title to my self-published catalogue this year; currently editing a histfic and a fantasy novel, but with severalmany other WIPs (and a day job - because, you know, indie author), it's anyone's guess when they'll be ready. I have PLANS, though - watch this space. 3/

I write fantasy and historical fiction; my fantasy novel Cailleach, of which I'm INORDINATELY proud, is available on the Zon or via my Etsy shop. (Links are you-know-where. ⬆) 2/

Been looking forward to it with such glee. We rewatched season 1 in prep for season 2 - Mark Rylance is just 👌, and I’m not normally a huge fan of Damien Lewis but I have to say he’s excellently menacing and mad as HVIII.

It's glorious, isn't it? One of my books of the year, I think.

Fic: just finished North Woods by Daniel Mason, adored it.
Non-fic: Doppelganger by Naomi Klein, got Chasing Fog by Laura Pashby lined up next.
