A3 I've arranged a walk and invited staff to join me to discuss their plans for enhancements and get some support and feedback while enjoying the walk. But this has been outside the curriculum #lthechat

A2 I don't really know what their expectations are. I don't think they see it linked to their studies but support available from e.g student Life.

The student Volunteering society based at the Uni emphasises the great wellbeing and belonging that arises from volunteering #lthechat

A1 I teach on a PGCert...I try to remind them about their wellbeing opportunities but having an explicit element in that curriculum may be challenging.

Difficult position of academic staff and those in professional service roles and not over stretching their capacities and knowledge #lthechat

Some great tips from @drntasler.bsky.social about getting over that perceived writers block/pig dog.

Pig dog?

That's right - read her post to the end to find out the context 😜

Something to share with those struggling with their #AHE Fellowship claim and other pieces of written work.

3. To be brave and try that new approach - conquer your imposter syndrome and have a go. Watch out latest PG Cert cohort - I may be dropping you an email to invite collaboration.

We miss you @mjjack.bsky.social!

3 things I want to take forward/continue to do:

1. Embedding an inclusive approach - so that's it part of "our DNA".

2. Continuing to provide spaces, physical and virtual, for colleagues to share effective practice - especially our PG Cert alumni

Its only two weeks since my fantastic colleague @mjjack.bsky.social left SALT :(

She shared some great tips in reflecting on setting up the #APinchofSalt podcast in 2021, what she's learned in her career and great to hear that Theresa Ogbekhiulu was a favourite guest.

Noting our approaches evolve and adapt according to student characteristics, external factors etc and perhaps the most adept educator is one who acts as 'catalyst' - like the Cheshire Cat recognising when to step in.

I LOVE this consideration of not having one fixed metaphor. I explore visual metaphors, impacts on this and approaches to teaching on our PG Cert & refer to Sfard's caution of reliance on one.

Thank you for your post @profdamienpage.bsky.social which I saw on LinkedIn this morning.

My consideration of 'failure' in HE teaching and supporting those to be open about it has been reignited.

Do others have references to add to those in the attached? (message me direct for a Word version)?
