🐘 In 2020, 35 elephants in Zimbabwe died mysteriously.
Our new study in Nature Communications shows a Pasteurella-like bacterium with a unique mix of virulence genes - including toxins normally found in the meningitis bacterium Neisseria meningitidis.

✨Célia Souque just showcased the outcomes of the 12th Microbial Bioinformatics Hackathon at IMMEM XIV.

She brilliantly presented the first sneak-peek of PORT – Plasmid Outbreak Reporting Tool! 🧬
Looking forward to continuing this collaboration with PORT!

After a couple of intense days at Hackathon (playing with Plasmid stuff), we’re ready for the ESCMID (@escmid.bsky.social) IMMEM XIV conference co-organized by ESGEM (@esgem.bsky.social).

Kicking things off with, for me, the most exciting session of the conference...
