the closest erha got was the scenes between cwn and hbn. but it's definitely nothing close to nosferatu since they end quickly and cwn has negative interest in hbn

and i think it's ridiculous to say that thomas didn't care or wasn't trying. thomas was desperate to fit into those same social norms.

the main theme that stuck out for me was the desire for both a loving, happy relationship and non-vanilla sex. or even just actively desiring sex as a woman. in so many movies examining repressed sexuality, the "confirmed" relationship is portrayed as stifling

I read a few tumblr posts to get the overall Vibe and perhaps a rewatch/sitting with it longer will change my opinions. + I do think they're influenced bc i can see myself in both ellen /and/ thomas

like yeah in bingge vs bingmei cang qiong is kinda hostile to lbh being there, but even by return to childhood things have toned down enough that cang qiong is in a loose alliance with lbh's demon realm faction and trying to smooth things over with huan hua palace
