Bit of an environmentally aware chap as well as a car enthusiast. Amidst a career change moving from Financial Planning to the green home energy transition sector.
You cannot create or destroy energy. So anything generated from the wind as you drove, would originate from the battery that was being used to move the car.

PV on the roof however, in sunny places like Spain or California, that can charge a car whilst it’s parked. Or indeed driven.

Curious to know, why the anti McLaren sentiment?
November 23, 2025 at 7:00 PM
Not really. They are letting them race which means the season isn’t long since over and the final two weekends will be interesting.

It’s very rare that one driver doesn’t have priority in a team. When they do, you get walkovers like Seb, Lewis, Max and many more before their time.

Let em race

I’d be sceptical of those on new builds, as most of those I see are the smallest the developer could get away with.

Boilers as you know aren’t 100 efficient, especially old ones

But I know what you mean!!
November 22, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Well indeed! And here we are many many hours later and we’ve only used an extra 0.5kwh during the rest of the day. Probably boiling the kettle and exceeding what our inverter can discharge.

That’s a task for the spring when it not working doesn’t run the battery dry!
November 20, 2025 at 3:12 PM
I’m not touching it lol! It’s a black box the inner workings of which are beyond my (current) understanding. Best to leave well alone!

Zappi is indeed integrated as we have two cars.

It’s my moral compass I suppose. Having said that they must want to push out elec otherwise they wouldn’t have given me a slot.

I need to make a note of today and check the bill when it arrives

Can Blueprint consider a zappi entity and only charge battery IF can isnt showing as “Full”

Danger is pulling grid and retrospectively being charged peak coz car didn’t charge.

Sorry me again. Car charged last night to target. It’s still connected and myenergi App says “full”.

Oct App unchanged so they still think we need 50% by 0530.

They’ve given a slot now and battery started to charge. Car can’t as it’s full.

Any idea if Octopus honour those slots? If not
November 20, 2025 at 1:47 PM
Me again. Hi. Thanks for other message. Do I need to remove the 2330 0530 scheduled charge in the Giv App? Even if the car isn’t plugged in?

Thanks.

Was quite some ten minutes+ as it turned out!!
November 19, 2025 at 6:06 AM
Oh I’ve never tried that. Might give it a go tomorrow!
November 18, 2025 at 8:07 PM
As it happens we just got a slot, and it seemed to work fine. So yeah thanks!
November 18, 2025 at 7:52 PM
Oh dear.

Yup like the phone. They skipped landlines and went straight to mobile. I believe it’s called leapfrogging.
November 16, 2025 at 8:41 AM
Cracking film that.

Wrong platform for that sort of drivel! Data clearly shows batteries lasting much longer than originally anticipated.
