Same method but I also add subdivision and displacement using multires so it goes from around 60k to 150k polys for more depth

I baked the hi poly details onto the low poly mesh using a normal map. Since the detail is faked, it’s pretty lighting dependent.

Roosevelt island is a cool place to walk around and gives you a view of the Manhattan east side

Battery park city also has a nice walk with views

Manhattan bridge is an alternative to the Brooklyn bridge. Bring ear pro if you plan on walking it cuz subway cars run through it

If ur using a cage to bake normal maps make sure the hi res mesh doesn’t poke out or intersect with the cage mesh before u bake

If ur using multires bake, shrink wrap project the retopo mesh to the hi res mesh and dont change the hi res retopo at all before u bake. If u do, then repeat shrinkwrap
