When you calculate your price, you take your cost, multiply it 2x and that’s what you sell to retailers. They 2x that to sell in store, so a $10 increase in cost becomes a $20 increase at the wholesale level, which then gets doubled for retail. So that $10 becomes $40 more at the final sale price.
