One day you're young and trendy. The next you go, "What's the deal with Pickeball? How is that a sport? What's with all the ruckus?"

Annual general reminder to the public: If you're doing your last min Christmas shopping this weekend, pls be nice to the retail workers you see on the floor. They're likely to have been working overtime since Black Friday, and they're missing their own holidays to serve you. Be kind.

I am clearing my PTO this few weeks. Went to the library alone. Read a book. Drank coffee. Cooked dinner. I enjoy a slow and quiet life.

Twenty years ago, everyone was obsessed with Millennials. Every brand wanted to crack the "Millennial code." Now it's Gen Z's turn in the spotlight. But blaming an entire generation for subdued retail spending? That's just lazy analysis and marketing.

Besides running A/B testing and measuring the uplift from the test vs. control group over a period of time, while assigning a % of confidence level - a perfect attribution model is a unicorn... it looks pretty on a story, but it doesn't exist.

You can run a marathon.
But you can't sprint a marathon.

That's how you burn yourself out.

Survived working through Black Friday. I don't enjoy it. It's not for me. In a world riddled with overconsumption, Black Friday isn't helping the situation.

When's the last time you had a real conversation?

Not a text thread. Not a Slack message. Not even your scheduled 1-on-1.

An actual conversation where you weren't half-present, fighting the urge to check your phone every few minutes.

Where you were actually there. Listened.

When was that?

After rounds of program devaluation, I don't see how this latest move seeks to appease Starbucks customers.

Nothing like having a health scare, being forced to face your mortality, that makes you recalibrate your priorities in life. What's life without good health and family love? The rest are just peripherals.

In-flight entertainment is great for watching trashy movies that you'd never want to spend a dime on watching in a cinema. Such a movie is: Jurassic Park Rebirth.

Companies in Asia use WhatsApp as their main mode of communication - blurring the line between personal and work life. Was on vacation last week, and it bothered me when my colleagues kept crossing the boundary with WA messages. Didn't have this problem back in Europe. Tips on how to deal with it?

Recently, I learned that in Korea, lunch hours are scheduled, and staggered—everyone gets assigned to a lunch group. My first reaction? That sounds dystopian.

But then I realized: I can't remember the last time I had a full, uninterrupted hour to eat.

Maybe "regimented lunch" isn't the enemy.

With the world slowly imploding, sometimes it feels a little hypocritical to continue going about our life per normal. I'm blessed to be in #Singapore - removed from the geopolitical turmoil. Foreign friends complain that Singapore is sterile. I won't have it any other way. For now.
