Waarom?

But, if they were made in the US, there probably would be more emissions involved in the production of all that 'stuff'. It's the global emissions that matter.

Transporting to the US would currently emit more, but apparently China now can build Thorium powered ships.

Would love for OpenStreetMaps to have map tiles for the Roman age. Looking at the Netherlands, whole provinces are in the maps that certainly didn't exist back then. And weirdly no Roman maps there either😀

They probably count the effectiveness of their code generators in generated lines of code as well?

Isn't the whole point of humanoids to imitate the human form?
That + engineering consideration does mean there is not a huge range of designs for humanoids, at least smaller than robotics more generally.

Ooh, nice and rusty! I like big nanomaterial extruders and I cannot lie

It's hard to gather this data and preprocess it because there's no application for it, like we do have for images and speech, is his argument. That's true and catching up to the amount of imagery and speech already recorded is very hard.

Humans learn how their sense of touch works, in a few years

Memories! I also wrote a bunch of stuff for these things. Some poker or other casino game IIRC, as well as solving quadratic formulas etc.

Maybe the use case of humanoids is figuring out how to not need them
September 12, 2025 at 6:01 PM
We'll trend toward the cheapest thing that gets the job done. Could be humanoids. If that thing is cheaper because it gets many jobs done and thus has more economies of scale, could indeed be humanoids, but also something else.

I think eventually, people realize that you don't always need legs and wheels will suffice in many cases. Then they figure out that human hands aren't better than specific designs. And hard to control.
Optimizing for cost, always. That might mean something like Hello robot's stretch, or google's...

Are we at the peak now? On on the downslope already perhaps? Maybe we'll eventually get to that plateau when those factories are needed
