Fed jobs ARE working class. What would you call folks who clean up nat.parks; the nurses, techs, intake workers at VAs; DOE secretaries; call takers & claims processors at the SocSec Admin.; guards, social workers, etc. at fed prisons; the accountants, etc.? Get your head outta your . . . .

It’s like the idiot thinks he’s the only one who can issue tariffs. What an absolute tool. (And not a useful one.)

Good grief. How did NPR hurt you, Little Man?

Deflect, deflect, deflect.

Their incompetence is stunning. When we think we know how ignorant they are, it’s as if they say, “Hold my beer and watch this . . .”

Love my home state and wish I was still there.
March 26, 2025 at 9:09 PM
If you aren’t the most ignorant person I’ve seen on Bluesky, you’re damn close. What a stupid and rude comment. Predicted by who? No one credible, certainly. Now if you mean Melania — that over-facelifted mannequin stepford wife is on the verge of leaving Felonious Maximus, that sounds about right.

That is definitely my plan. Will be outside, or watching Netflix or Dateline all day. Going to avoid that spectacle like the plague it is. (Fervently hoping it’s super cold in DC that day, too; maybe with sleet.)

Are you serious? There is plenty of talk about what goes on around him that is wrong, illegal, suspect, questionable, etc. Good lord. Since you clearly follow weak sources, please start following Reuters, Jay Kuo, Heather Cox Richardson, The Contrarian, Mary Trump, BBC and legit news.
January 14, 2025 at 2:09 PM
It received national news coverage on TV, newspapers, and online sources. I’m not sure what credible news sources you follow, but maybe reconsider. Even if you didn’t somehow see the story about the man who died, a Google search “did anyone die during assassination attempts on T—-?” would get info.

A man behind him was killed and a couple of others wounded.

That has been part of American HS curriculum for several years and fact-based support for one’s statements has been part of the writing and reading curriculum from elementary through high school for at least fifteen years. It existed before that but became Much More emphasized.

Correction: Union Terminal
January 11, 2025 at 4:52 AM
Go to Union Station; be sure to visit the Holocaust & Humanity Museum. It’s small but so well done. If you’re lucky, there might be a survivor speaking when you visit. There are other museums too, but even if you just go in to see the murals and architecture, the building is beyond gorgeous.

Yes! Came on here to say Graeter’s.

Nihilism helps no one. It pulls down energy and hope. I’m not splitting hairs. Use facts. Why do you insist on giving DT more credit than he deserves? He barely—1.5% more of votes and under 50% — won. On the hill he has the thinnest margin of power. Keep telling people it’s hopeless & you’ll get it.
January 10, 2025 at 11:41 PM
No, not correct. He won 1.5% more votes than Harris. He did not win 50% of the votes (because of third party candidates). It isn’t “nitpicking” to use facts. It is wrong to say “half of the country” voted for him when it was actually under 29%. Don’t contribute to boosting him. He barely succeeded.

Part of the report gets released. The part about stolen docs doesn’t.
January 10, 2025 at 12:15 PM
Exit polls are notoriously “off.” This doesn’t mention that only about 67% of registered voters went to vote. (Fewer than in 2019.) Of that 67%, approx. 48.8% voted for DT. The difference between his votes & Harris’s was 1.5%. So, no; half of the U.S. didn’t vote for him. Not even 1/2 of voters did.
January 10, 2025 at 12:14 PM
Please don’t say “half of our country wanted him.” That is not accurate. Approximately 67% of registered voters voted (fewer than in the last election). (Please note that not everyone who could register to votes does register.) Of that 67% DT got 48% of the votes.

Carter was not an “awful” president. He was president at a time of civil unrest, on the heels of the Vietnam War, and was an outsider. He accomplished quite a bit in the final days of his presidency. Carter rated himself a C+/B-; B seems more accurate. Certainly better than 45! Sooo much better.
