It’s alarming to see what is happening in many newspapers of record, after many decades of agreement on the core principles of sound journalism. An informed citizenry is the bedrock of democracy, and we need to look out for this more than ever.

A few observations: This tool should itself be independently audited for bias before any deployment. Much of AI is trained on biased data sets, and bias is often introduced via design assumptions that are not tested./1
