How many even boot into windows once?

Silos don't need to fly, so they can be built as thick and heavy as you like. Rockets that get to orbit only just barely manage to do so. We're on a planet where it's almost, but not quite, impossible. So all rockets are built extremely light for their size. IIRC Super Heavy is built with 4mm steel.

Nonsense. Mine runs Fedora, not Mint!
November 20, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Suspiciously similar performance to SLS block 1!

More reusable rockets, more better.

What are the little antennae on the top?

Gnome + DashToPanel

So... OPSEK but with one less Science and Power module?

Block 3 is looking really polished!

Definitely a keyboard only user.

How long will the bidding process take?
October 21, 2025 at 9:41 PM
Under "Scott Manley" you misspelled "Legend".

Good thing to have along to make sure Starship flies safe!

How hard is a call-back system?
October 10, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Pretty cool. Perhaps I'm nitpicking, but wouldn't it be more useful to simply have 5 spots for large bottles?

I use Mac a lot but I always thought the Windows layout was more efficient: the dock has unused space on the left and right and the top panel has unused space in the middle. So why not combine them? I suppose it lets you pin more apps...
September 30, 2025 at 7:06 AM
Ooh, I normally prefer a single panel but I might just steal that layout!
September 29, 2025 at 8:47 PM
Looking forward to trying it with Cosmic, hopefully the spin will use the beta!

The problem of course is that we are comparing starship with the LM or the Chinese equivalent. Do we want more flags and footprints or do we want true lunar capabilities?

It's almost as if you wait until the last minute to fund something, it will be the last thing to get finished.

(2006 for Orion, 2011 for SLS, 2021 for HLS)

Huh, didn't realise watching YouTube on TV was such a minority.
September 18, 2025 at 7:42 PM
Yeah, it does NOT look good. And why is my nicely organised apps overview gone for a little window in the middle, launched from an icon that resembles a calculator?
September 17, 2025 at 6:36 AM
Great stuff, looking forward to the beta!

I'd love a little more customization for those who only use one panel: smaller tray icons on a bigger panel, and being able to toggle between an icon or text for the Launcher, Apps and Workspaces applets.

Keep up the good work!

In a previous role I had a small number of services that were lightweight but needed to run or performed better on physical hardware. I used 4 separate pis for the job. A cute cluster like this would be useful, though alternative solutions obviously exist.

Is the Orel ever likely to launch?

I feel like this headline comes back every year.
