Speaking of Hallmark, Bennett, and reality shows, I asked Jonathan at Christmas Con if the Murder Mystery show was still happening and he said yes. So reality must still be worth it for Hallmark.

I agree with a lot of that. Don't think we'll get many new mystery movies in 2026, if any. Kind of surprised they still went all out for Merry Thanksgiving Weekend this year. Easy place to cut back on movies next year. Going to remain hopeful they find a place for MM.

Do you think Mistletoe Murders did well enough during the holiday season to get renewed? Seemed to do decently in the Friday night slot but not sure about cost of making it.

These 3 and Newport Christmas have all been ones I really enjoyed. Quality does seem better overall so far. Only one (maybe 2) real duds at this point. Plus Mistletoe Murders is even better this season.

Definitely a lot from our days of live tweeting! I even found some old tweets and shared them during the pod. Was tempted to put Go On and The Crazy Ones on there too.

That's a very good point. Their core audience will watch on any night and it would make good business sense to put anything episodic on weeknights.

My biggest concern is that them going linear with Hallmark+ will cause them to make fewer holiday movies this year. Hopefully when they say 40 movies, they mean 40 brand new ones, not just new to linear. They also seem committed to calling MM a show but maybe they'll air them in 2 'episode' blocks.

I read somewhere that Mistletoe Murders did well on Hallmark+ too. Wonder if they'll air S1 of that during July or wait until right before S2 starts.
