This bobcat and cub were found frozen to the top of a pole. A lineman was able to rescue them and release them. This happened in Norton County, Kansas.

That’s a black walnut, stashed in a tree by a squirrel. Two hours later, it was gone—retrieved by the same squirrel, or snatched by another.

My first—and only—crewel embroidery. Worked on it on and off for years. Hung it up the door of the front hall closet and put a copy of the pattern on a shelf inside to prove I did it.

I got this shot by holding the camera as far above my head as possible. Had seen a dark spot among the hawthorn flowers. It was only when I got it on the computer and enlarged it that I could see it was a honeybee.

It was a little earlier in February a few years ago when I looked out my deck door and saw this 20 feet below. I grabbed my camera and ran down the stairs and out the patio door. Had to squat down to get this shot. Snowdrops.

Some idiot cut the rosebush down a few years ago. I kept the photo, but on warm summer afternoons, oh, I will miss the fragrance.
