Happens often and it worse that that. My last "like new" had massive coffee stains and had obviously been in water. It was twice its normal size and the pages were very wavy.

I have my father's old paperbacks. The quality of print, paper and size was far better 40-50 years ago.

I'm exclusively on e-readers now.
