If you find you like the premise of the show, go back and watch older UK and AUS seasons. I found I was able to suspend disbelief and get a lot more into it when different accents and cultures were involved. It’s harder for me to sink in when the people all sound like me and my friends lol.

It’s all about finding the people that you enjoy watching and following their journey. Some seasons you won’t click with anyone, other season’s you might click with multiple people! Just gotta get invested!

Keep in mind this show is six weeks long with episodes most days. There won’t be drama every episode. Sometimes a new person being added into the villa will cause drama, sometimes some information will come out during a chat or a game that causes drama.

Depends on what you mean by pick up. It’s a very “character” driven show so the first few episodes are a little slower. Once bombshells and challenges start, things get a little more complex.

Imma be for real, at the beginning of this year, in order to doomscroll less, I decided to read more. (30% through book 41!). When Love Island started, I switched my Bluesky feed to the Love Island one and boy has that been a game changer.
