The message is out there, loud and clear. Trump sent it the first time, and the world tried to pretend it was an aberration. But he's back now and saying it louder than ever and finally the world is hearing it.

And what is the message? It's really simple. The world can't rely on America any more.

And that's what's happening now. Eighty years of alliances, of trust, of international relations and order, millions of businesses, millions of trades, friendships, partnerships, alliances, treaties - it's all being thrown away. And it will hurt everyone. But most of all it hurts the USA.

Where does one eat? There's little room in the kitchen for a table; if you put a table in the living area, you'd have to schlepp the food out of the kitchen, down the hall, and around a bend.

I know these coastal mountains, having been involved with the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy. This is very hard to watch from afar.

We've heard that 5 of our family members (including 2 children) have evacuated and it looks to me that 4 (2 children) more are in the mandatory zone. Another 3 (1 disabled child) are living close to the evacuation zone. These are all in the Altadena and Highland Park areas.

We lived near these fires for years and still have friends and family in Altadena, Topanga, Santa Monica, Simi Valley and more. We've seen these fires, but this one could be disastrous. Those narrow canyon roads will be overwhelmed. You're right: devastating and nowhere near containment.

I agree. I've felt this way ever since 2015 when the Trump campaign started. It was happening before that, of course, but he's amplified the effect. And it's terrifying.

Not news is it? I see another right wing outlet spouting that Farage can be PM. We are at war. A war aimed at destabilising western democracy. The US is further down the road but the same is happening in Germany and France AfD/National Rally. Those on the side of democracy need to up their game.

This is disgraceful. I know a trans person; I knew him before he transitioned. It's so clear that he is now who he was born to be, not the person he was before. JK doesn't get it, and she shouldn't be using her platform to spread this hateful prejudice.
