...flexibility the first two years. EVERYONE had to take STEM. EVERYONE took a language and humanities. You could focus down more the last 2 years, but still a lot of mandatories. They wanted well-rounded, educated officers.

If there has ever been an institution that would seem to call for an exclusively vocational/training focus, it's the Military Academy. Yet they wanted officers to have an *education,* not simply *training.* When I was there, we had classes 6 days/week, and everyone got STEM and humanities.

Funny - but is there a kernel of truth (ahem) to the paying yourself thing? As in, does representing yourself actually require you, the lawyer, to account for “donated” services, or you, the client, to account for the “gift?” If “no,” would it if another lawyer represented a client pro bono?
