2025 was a year of building stronger communities together. Our Justice Equity and Opportunity (JEO) teamed up with the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority to host a statewide conference on higher education in prison. Together, we will transform the criminal legal system.

The Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) Program invests in communities that have been harmed by the war on drugs.

Over the last 5 years, we’ve invested $280 million in grants to 400 grantees. 2025 was a year of building strong community ties!

In 2025, Illinois remained the national champion for birth equity. We released the multi-agency Illinois Birth Equity Blueprint to ensure every mom has a safe pregnancy, delivery and support for their postpartum journey.
