For legal reasons. Everything I say is parody.

Companies should realize that while C-Suite Execs and finance bros think the tide has turned to the far right — it hasn’t. Going conservative will absolutely cost you money.
Entertainment especially 👀

The Democrats fundraising email telling me I'm not an atm... made me feel like an atm.

Look. Invading our own country is about as straightforward a case as you can have for impeachment. The GOP abandoning the Constitution is kind of the only story there is and it gets no coverage.

Guys. I just had a crazy idea. What if the President DIDN’T deploy troops in American cities. Just a thought. Have we tried that before?

Necronom-nom-nom-icon: an evil cook book.

There's a documentary about it called "
Scream, Queen!"

So there's some sexual and gay undertones to the sequel (which makes it cool imo). But it's said that the writer and director put them in there as a way to make fun of the actor for being gay. And the actor felt like he was blacklisted after that.

I also appreciate the first sequel, but am sad what happened to lead actor.

Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and New Nightmare

Freddy Vs Jason is the best Friday the 13th movie, but not the best Nightmare on Elm st.

Sure, we can obviously talk about the differences, and we should. To remember the bad thing that happened and to prevent anything similar from happening again.
lucasbrowneyes.bsky.social
And if someone has to make a comparison, it's often because there's a blindspot or double standard where that bad thing is condemned, but this bad thing isn't because of it's a different group/time/etc.

And policing how people get their point across, often only helps the other side.
lucasbrowneyes.bsky.social
It's okay to compare something bad happening now to something bad that happened in the past. There are limits to this, but even if something that happened in the past happened a bigger scale, it's doesn't diminish it.

Often, you're comparing it because you hope it doesn't get worse like it did.

You.

Police.

It’s a core First Amendment principle. This is utterly lawless behavior, for which there will be no (short-term) consequences.

That he does it so casually, as they are walking away, in front of cameras.

Rightly confident in his impunity.
“[t]he freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.”

But again, if pet rocks aren’t political, then why is disliking it political?

Idk, I’m glad I live in a time when you can call a rock a rock.
lucasbrowneyes.bsky.social
It would sound silly expecting the pet rock to have spoken out against Vietnam, Nixon, or AIDs epidemic, but when every newspaper/magazine devote entire front pages to the pet rock, at a certain point, it’s taking up so much space that maybe it should give a little of attention to those issues.

Course waves of rockies would say you dont point out that a slinky’s just a spring & youre being anti-geology. Comparing the pet rock to turquoise is problematic I guess but turquoise doesnt get the same attention. Must’ve felt like there’s a system that elevates rocks above more complex rare gems.
