The stupid Apple 'Allow local network access' permission has resulted in so many frustrating troubleshooting sessions at my house as well as at my parents'.
It silently blocking a single app's access to devices (when someone didn't know what it meant when clicking 'No' weeks before) is such a PITA.

71 hours later, I finally finished Silksong. I had a very love/hate relationship with the game.

71 hours later, I finally finished Silksong. I had a very love/hate relationship with the game.

After another round of sus updates, I've finally parted ways with Nova Launcher on my phone. After trying a few alternatives, I've settled on Smart Launcher which, _very_ handily, has a settings import for Nova users that replicates a Nova configuration.

Fascinating! It always amazes me how the internet is built on RFCs from before I was in school. I always wonder: if we were to do the same thing from scratch today, what (if?!) would the consensus be on fundamental things like DNS.

We got Lego Party in the recent Nintendo Store sale, and it's been great fun with the family!
IMO, it's much better than Mario Party. The minigames have a good variety, and not as button-bashy as most Mario ones.

We got Lego Party in the recent Nintendo Store sale, and it's been great fun with the family!

Being able to Quickshare/Airdrop from my Pixel 10 to my Mac (or my wife's iPhone) is amazing. Big kudos for Google for figuring it out, hopefully they can bring it to more Pixels!

I really want to watch the new Aus dino-horror flick, Primitive War, and would even have paid money to 'rent' it from a streaming service.
But AU$25 for a 3 day streaming rental? Are they insane? It would have cost me and Des less to see it at the local cinema!

NGL, as someone who doesn't really like DC (and especially Superman/Batman as characters), I really enjoyed the new Superman movie.
James Gunn did it. He got me to like not just a DC character movie, but a Superman movie! 🫨🙌👏

Ugh, the new Pepsi recipe in Australia now has artificial sweeteners in it. It now tastes like a mild Pepsi Max. 🤢
Apparently they're doing the same to Mountain Dew in order to reduce sugar (and probably save money!).
If I wanted sugar-free/diet taste, I would have bought that product! 😡

I found a decent bug in an API I was documenting today. I like finding bugs in new products or features, because other than figuring out a mystery, it shows the value of technical writers being 'Customer Zero' for the user experience.
