Sport, transport, politics in no order of preference. Lover of long summer evenings, craft beers and greyhound pats.
We had a Mark Waugh Slazenger V100. But dad had a shoulderless bat like the type Lance Cairns used back in the day. You always got some weird looks when that got pulled out of the bag

Despite paying for Fox (yes I know I shouldn't) I still watch the coverage on 7. Even with Brayshaw, Hayden, ad breaks every over, it's still a better listen than the dribble on Fox

If the conservatives go fully down the path of "the PM is weak on antisemitism" to respond to this tragedy while the government go down the sensible further reforms to gun laws route, I know which approach I'd have my money on most Australians backing.

Maybe I'm embellishing a bit 😁
But I guess my point was similar to yours, if Classical music is still available on both FM (from another source) and DAB from the ABC, then yes Local Radio is a far better use of that FM frequency.

Agree completely that Classic being on FM in any city that has both DAB+ and a community fine music station on FM is a misuse of space.

Even the bloody Brisbane weather's gone woke these days 😂

Can report it's actually spectacular up here today - warm but not too hot, a cooling breeze and not too humid. Way too hospitable conditions to turn on for our visiting guests for my liking

Need to now never park your car in there but start complaining to Council that you can never get a park on-street because everyone else parks there instead of their garages

For us Geelong supporters, where it all began. Thanks for sharing

More states feels like it could be a bit scary. Can you imagine the mess when states like Katterstan or Barnabytopia get to send 12 senators each to Canberra?

My vote for the Victorian opposition in your recent poll is looking very accurate right now

Could not agree more. But why spend more to address a problem that expresses itself by way of emergency overcrowding and ambulance ramping, both issues that only (generally) hurt the states financially and politically?
Whole thing is fucked really...

David Gower? 😁
October 24, 2025 at 5:31 AM
Haha I forget there was a whole "home recording is infringing copyright" era. What a time

Ooh I wonder what the decision is???

Never got to Wallangarra by rail, and sadly never will now. Did you do it from both sides of the border?

There you go. Wasn't trying to correct you, just saw the date and thought something didn't quite compute.
October 7, 2025 at 12:20 AM
Wait, when was fathers day in 1992? If it was the usual first Sunday in September then this aired weeks after it?
October 6, 2025 at 9:32 PM
Yeah me neither. I tried to correct them saying they must have boarded the Overland to Adelaide, but they were adamant it was the Ghan, and they were correct

It must have been a special service:

Pretty sure they were on the August one. Though not sure if it boarded at the station site

My parents did a trip on the Ghan that started at Inverleigh a couple of years ago. I was so confused as I swore the Ghan only started from Adelaide, but this special saw them bussed from Geelong to Inverleigh, fed at the local hotel, then start the journey (via Adelaide) from there

The "we'll wait til 2030" is particularly ominous

Poor Sussan isn't gonna even beat Brendan Nelson's tenure at this rate

I love it, but surely the pollies would shit the bed and run once the mining companies predictably launched their massive campaign against it and them. See RSPT under Rudd (who was similarly flying high at the time) and the current royalties situation they're still going after here in Qld...
