The Renaissance humanists inspired me to go by a Latinized version of my name. I, Lucas Rivinus, am devoted to classical literature, mythology, history, and philosophy. Recently, I have begun writing a new documentary series, “Mythical History of Greece and Rome,” with StardustOrpheus🥀 narrating.
This is so exciting! Some new and future technologies may just be a gift from the gods to classicists worldwide! My hope is that someday we'll find a passage from one of the earlier Greek mythographers like Acusilaus, but Roman history is important, too. 🙂 #ancient #classics #literature #academia

The Greeks said Cadmus left Phoenicia to found Thebes. As king, Cadmus introduced writing to the Greeks. Today, philologists have linked the Greek alphabet to the older Phoenician one, and archaeologists have concluded that Phoenicians were among the earliest settlers on the site of Thebes.

Cyclopes appear three times in classical mythology. First, three of the sons of Uranus are Cyclopes, and they ally with Zeus in the Titanomachy. Second, King Proetus, the uncle of the hero Perseus, uses Cyclopes of unknown parentage to build the walls around his city of Tiryns.
