If you want to check my work or just play a more haunting, meaningful game of #dnd, pick up #BookofExtinction from @magehandpress.bsky.social. I spoke with so many incredible people to make this happen, and I'd love for you to meet them.

Caveat: I've spent four years researching extinction in the modern day, but I'm not an expert. Look for third-party verification like @charitywatch.bsky.social, find experts at local universities, or call/visit the organization yourself. Speaking with a real person is always worth the effort.

3) Look for a record of success. If money is easier for you to give than time or participation, I recommend @biologicaldiversity.org. By their own estimate they've gained first-time protection for more than 760 species under the Endangered Species Act. scintilla.studio/monster-exti...

2) Pick a local place. I'd recommend freshwater ecosystems: any lake, river, or creek near you is probably in trouble, and other people are probably working on it. Mine's the Big Darby Creek: www.columbusmonthly.com/story/lifest...
Protecting the Big Darby, One of the Most Pristine Creeks in Ohio
As development marches westward from Franklin County, conservationists are raising the alarm about preserving biodiversity in the Big Darby creeks.

1) Pick a species. Groups like the Ohio Hellbender Partnership by @visitcolumbuszoo.bsky.social & others focus on key members of an ecosystem, and it's easy to measure their impact. This reintroduction program has released over 1,900 hellbenders in Ohio since 2012.

3/4: We've already far exceeded my hopes for this campaign. And we've gathered a core audience of people, in truly humbling numbers, who believe in this kind of storytelling. The way I see it, we're walking with them on a new quest as Graftbound grows into new projects. Everything else is gravy.

2/4: The central question of Glatisant is how can a dream care for its dreamer? It's a parable for an object of faith, so rare in this life, that loves you back as much or more than you love it. And this baffling moment in the campaign feels like it could have walked out of the mists of this book.
