That's a very broad brush way of handling it. I like how r/nailpolish manages the issue. Their rule is that you can't post from the same account that contains NSFW content. It's made a huge difference in the quality of posts and helps keep the algorithm pointed towards SFW content.

The more apt comparison is clearly the "E" trend of 2017. Came out of nowhere, makes no sense, the kids love it.
