I model something in 3D every year so I busted out this aeonium just in time with zBrush -- fun with deformers and rendering 😹🌵 🎨🌈🌸
An aeonium created/rendered in zBrush based on photo reference of my plant. The leaves are comprised of 3 "types" that were duplicated and modified with the Bend Arc deformer, and then I applied a BPR Render pass. The background was painted by hand in Photoshop

I did like the final result, but I also enjoyed the earlier stages’ lighter washes! I could have probably called it, but I felt like experimenting with further layering. Hmm … it’s almost like there’s joy in the process, and decision making is meaningful 🤔 #gouache
