Now we have at least 2 more summers with a Superman adjacent movie (Supergirl 2026, Man of Tomorrow 2027) coming out.

I think the big problem with the Chibnall era was that he didn’t play to his strengths as a showrunner from the start. He should’ve gone with full serialization for his era of Doctor Who.
If it’s an episodic season they wanted, they should’ve hired an episodic storyteller, not a serialized one.

I think the complete rejection of the Timeless Child narrative was a bit of an overreaction. Since when was it so important for The Doctor to be “normal”? He was a renegade from the start and became president of Gallifrey. Multiple times.

One implication of the timeless child narrative of the 13th Doctor is that there’s now no more reason to ever revisit Gallifrey. The Doctor owes them nothing. He’s not even gallifreyan. They’re not even a threat anymore. He was able to just stroll in and take over as president days after arrival.
