What I used to work out whos-who when I was utterly confused on Anmitsu-hime.

I bought this small set of Anmitsu Hime settei, an anime from 1986, with the sole purpose of restoring it.

I'm glad it's only a 27-sheet set, because editing each page takes a while to edit when they're this damaged. 😅

Anyway, until I can figure out the cause of this RDP crash thing, further work on this N64 homebrew application of mine has very much stalled. Even so, I figured I might as well need a little break from it for a while.

At first the app could crash up this screen at any moment, but it later reduced to just a single kind of logo screen. Could be that my Nintendo 64 console hadn't been turned on for a few years and the Libdragon OS went bonkers because of it, or something. I'm not sure...

However, upon finally getting to test the thing on real hardware I hit a RDP hardware bug, which I've been narrowing down as to one particular logo screen being the cause of for reasons unknown to me.

Been a while now. So what have I been up to? Well, doing the reworking of the graphical side of my Sound Effects Driver homebrew test for the nintendo 64, and it has been coming along quite nicely. #Nintendo64 #Libdragon #Homebrew

So for the next version of this homebrew there will probably be more visual things and such going on, you know, to make things a bit more interesting. As to when this new build will be shown, it depends on when I manage to get all the stuff done.

While the demo that was shown in that video of mine was fairly good, I still feel I could do more with the knowledge I gained over the years...

Starting the process of completely revamping the graphics of the visual part of my sfx driver N64 homebrew. Right now the sprites are first on the list. #Nintendo64 #Libdragon #N64homebrew

The only thing that seems to be missing is the original image used in the example. But at least the code is still out there, so I'll be taking the chance now to preserve it.

Apparently it was posted on 2012, with the text itself coming from a thread on a different forum. While the link to virtualbox image no longer works, at least the code for the n64forever example is still there.

While looking up "n64forever libdragon" on google I found this thread on gamehacking(dot)org: forum.gamehacking.org/forum/video-...

Even so, it was the "n64forever" homebrew that i came to add on to and expand to create my early N64 homebrew projects like Testproj, Rdptest, the N64 ports of my two Dumb-Crows Tetris Block Stopping Game, and so on.

From what I can remember, bmb is another username of Conker64. "Bmb" might be his modification of the original "n64forever" example. But I don't think my little coding test originated from the thing he made.
November 13, 2025 at 9:31 PM
I'm not sure if the original N64forever example can still be found on the internet. Don't think I ever kept the downloaded file, although I did find a example in one of my N64 development zip files simply named "bmb".

It required some modifications to get it to compile with the newer Libdragon, but since it was so small it was quite easy to port it over.
November 13, 2025 at 9:25 PM
Managed to compile one of my oldest homebrew coding tests I ever did back in december 2016, which is actually a modification of another homebrew called "n64forever". #Nintendo64 #Libdragon #Homebrew

Exceptions would be Wario Land for Wii, Yume Nikki, and Wario World. (In the case of streamed music, that is.)
November 13, 2025 at 10:55 AM
That's not to say I don't appreciate game music on other consoles like Nintendo 64 and Gamecube(and Nintendo DS). I tend to like sequenced music better compared to streamed. But that's just me being me i guess...

As such, it would be a given that my taste for video game music tend to lie within blips and blops, and is the kind of sound I'm most comfortable with doing(and now sfx composing with this in mind).

Random thing: The first home game console I remember playing was the original NES, and my first portable game console was the Game Boy Color(first game being Game & Watch Gallery 2, if I remember correctly).

From that point on, I'll probably do some fixes to some of those pages, and then I'll take a long break from all the documenting and writing to try and get some well needed rest.
November 10, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Only have the demo 040.2 page for Kazooa in The Treasure Land now to finish the graphical differences of(along with some cleaning up), and I think I'll have the pages for builds 0.1 to 040.2 mostly done.
