It’s also based on the assumption that Putin is always acting on good information. Seems likely that before the invasion he had been told that Ukraine was bought and paid for, and there would be no meaningful resistance. And if so, I’m sure the accounts show the money was paid out.

I have just discovered fish owls, which are owls that look like they’ve been out on the razz for an extended period

That’s very interesting. Which asset managers would you say are the leaders on this?

Agreed, banks are well ahead of the curve on understanding and now pricing physical climate risk, been doing this for years already. Asset managers starting to work on it but still a long way behind banks.

Wow, we're back to the ecosystem/walled garden thing. I remember Sberbank - sorry, Sber - banging on about that back in 2019.

Yep, I have a family member in this situation. Freelance translator, Russian wife. Can’t see him ever being able to return to the UK to live under current rules, or of his mother being able to see her grandson more than a couple of times a year.

I mean, yes. Quite fun to see the astonishing range of bizarre stuff that gets advertised. But only a (short) evening’s entertainment at best

The Insta algorithm urgently wants me to paint thick brown, red and pink stripes all over my face, and then rub them with a brush, after which I will look exactly the same as I did at the start of the video (quite nice, caked in make-up).

In my experience, US firms are a lot lesser bothered by CSRD than by the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive, which would make them liable for infractions in their supply chains. That is where even sustainability advocates in the US start talking about extraterritoriality.
