I finally watched Trying a couple of months ago and it’s delightful. There were episodes that made me laugh and cry within the same sequence. There are hints of a Richard Curtis film vibe at times. I’m so pleased it will get seen by a wider audience and hopefully get some well deserved love.

On the plus side, there is a 17 year old on Twitter called Hull Boy who has just run from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise money for Mind. I only pop over to see his uplifting determination in the face the trolls.

How influential is Mauresmo in the decision making? Does she get a say as tournament director or is decision made by other execs of RG and she simply has to deliver message even if she has no choice in it? If it’s the latter, worry they think putting up a woman to defend it makes it more palatable.

Bogotá is at fairly serious altitude; walking on even a mild incline left me breathless. Not sure what the altitude is in Brazil but I worried about how she’d acclimatise when I saw she won’t on a Sunday so would have little time to adjust before playing. Wonder if that was part of the collapse

I loved her BBC interview. ‘Hope everyone’s getting their popcorn ready… because outdoors where the real show begins’- what an amazing line for her to come up with amidst the post race adrenaline!

Andrew Pozzi was a great guest with interesting opinions. He came across as a good man and frankly the world could do with more of those these days.

This is all very depressing. Part of the attraction of James Bond films are the expectation and the fact we have to wait for something special. I fear over saturation and decision making that plays to social media and the culture of instant gratification rather than brave and bold decision making.

Jakob seems to make himself so hard to like! It feels like he does So intentionally at this point or he needs to get better PR people.

I’m already finding Trump weirdly exhausting. How do we find the energy to follow along for his second term when at the moment a part of me just wants to look away/ stop listening to the news?

You’ve clearly not listened to the jaw dropping BBC podcast called The Gift. The unintended consequences of genealogy DNA testing were genuinely gasp inducing. Highly recommend a listen.
