With our first #Bluesky post we are celebrating VWT's 50th anniversary! Join us during 2025 for events, walks, talks, webinars and a new website launch as we celebrate past achievements and future plans to increase our impact in conserving threatened mammals in Britain, Ireland and mainland Europe.
Greater and lesser horseshoe bats, Irish stoat, pine marten, otter and polecats are all part of Vincent Wildlife Trust's 50 years of innovative mammal conservation.

This summer, not only has #MartensOnTheMove been busy launching the new Pine Marten Havens, but the team has also been attending events across its Strategic Recovery Areas. This includes the Peebles Nature Festival, Hay Festival, Galloway Country Fair and Monmouth Pride. #NationalLotteryHeritageFund

Brilliant session with our amazing Kerry volunteers! Together we crafted ~30 roosting pots and boards for lesser horseshoe bats.

Terracotta pots + wool wood boards coated in lime mortar = perfect textured nooks for bats to cling to (modern materials are too smooth!)

With an increasing number of acoustic records of lesser horseshoe bats on the Isle of Man, VWT’s Ireland Mammal Programme Manager, Kate, joined the Manx Bat Group for site visits and delivered a sold-out talk.

Yesterday, VWT’s #MartensOnTheMove celebrated its final Pine Marten Haven launch, this time in Wentwood Forest, Monmouthshire, Wales with #CoedCadw and #NaturalResourcesWales! The new Wildlife Hide was officially opened followed by guided walks for visitors to the site #NationalLotteryHeritageFund

Stop three on our lesser horseshoe #bat tour brought us to the beautiful Dromore Woods. We were treated to wonderful encounters with horseshoe bats, lively soprano pipistrelles, and Daubenton’s skimming the water at dusk. Huge thanks again to NPWS staff and all who joined us!
