Like I said, shutting down the nuclear power plants is not the reason of the recession. Energy prices are back to normal. The dependence on russian gas was one of the problems. Nuclear power were only 6% of Germans energy mix. It was easily compensated by other cheaper sources.

Yes, you got a point there. I think it was right to shut them down. Maybe not at that exact point during a crisis but overall I think it was right. It’s a debatable topic.

The production is suited to the fluctuating output of solar and wind because it is much cheaper. Why would they ramp it down then?

And I could cite a ton of studies that show that renewable is just the cheapest form of energy production. And we are talking about Germany, not Australia.

Habeck even let it continue during the crises. But the real argument: the energy price is at the level of 2021(?), so it’s already fallen again after the energy krises and the trend continues downwards. So just built more renewable and more energy storage. 2/2

Energy from nuclear power plants is the most expensive form of energy. The energy price was dependent on the most expensive (merit order). So it’s only logical to shut them down if most of the energy comes from cheap renewable sources. By the way, the exit was decided by the cdu. 1/2
