The amazing @freya.bsky.social brings stuff related to this in an AI "rant"-ish video around 40 minutes in here: youtu.be/-opBifFfsMY?...
That's pretty cool to think. Everything around us needed actual human work, design choices etc to exists. Let's value this kind of thing, people!

We have amazing works from experimental biology relying mainly on tagging proteins and watching them on the microscope, theoretical physical frameworks, molecular dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations such as this work: doi.org/10.7554/eLif... It's very interdisciplinary and exciting to be in! :)
Dynamic metastable long-living droplets formed by sticker-spacer proteins
Multi-scale simulations reveal a potential, ATP-independent mechanism resulting in the formation of the long-living multi-droplet state by multi-valent, spacer-sticker proteins.

It's also pretty cool because much of the theoretical and simulation tools used are well-known from colloidal science, but complex biological materials, such as proteins, present interesting challenges to explore this phenomenon further!

I'm not saying there's no interesting information and discussions here, or that the text is not very well written. The main problem is what is not discussed given how grave the situation in Venezuela has become.

What is the role of years and years of USA economic blockade on Venezuelan economy to impact research so much? What can we expect from USA oil-driven intervention from past experiences, such as Iraq in early this century?
See how the world is way more complex than the text implies?

To make it worse, Maduro was snatched explicitly because of USA interests in their oil. And by the Trump regime, which we know is basically the brainless school bully of our world today.

I mean, changing the economic foundation of a society doesn't necessarily change how neurodivergent people are seen, but could make room for them to live differently by not being so afraid of losing their income due to unmasking, not being bombarded by ads telling them how to live and consume etc

Still, I wonder if other ways for dealing with this might bloom if we changed the material basis of our society. By shifting from a concentrated commodities-based system to a radically different, democratic needs-oriented one
January 22, 2026 at 4:13 AM
So maybe a way of dealing with this (at least for now), as mentioned in the essay, is to work on adaptations and consciousness in the workplace and schools, while also forming communities with other neurodivergent people to be themselves and share experiences

My point is that sometimes writer's block is not necessarily about writing per se. Of course, these tips are great, but reflecting on why we feel stuck can be pretty valuable instead on just asking ourselves how to be more productive

Knowing what blocks our writing already helps a lot! For example, knowing that your insecurity is about maybe existing some paper out there that might impact your work already shows that reading more and reviewing the literature in depth would probably help on your writing

Academia is a pretty demanding work environment, and having to do multiple roles, along with "publish or perish" culture and overall insufficient financial compensation, it's no wonder why so many people go to the industry or simply use LLMs for reviewing papers...
