Hi, I'm Luisa and I paint vibrant floral landscapes in gouache. 🌸🌱

After spending years hustling to build a successful career in freelance fantasy art, I experienced burnout that made me lose touch with the joy of creating. I'm now on a journey to rediscover happiness through my art. 🩷
Painting windows again and loving it 💚🌱 From my trip to England/Cotswolds last year. A new piece for my upcoming exhibition in September :) #gouache

A few years ago, I was burned out, chasing an art career that didn’t fulfill me. If I could tell my younger self anything, it would be this: Create what feels right, not what you think others expect. Trust your own path and it will lead to something more fulfilling. What would you tell yours?

Happy New Year! 🎉
Let's make it a good one. First goal of 2025: Film and publish my #gouache course.

What I wish every beginner artist knew about patience is that mastery takes time. Be kind to yourself as you learn, and understand that every artist faces challenges along the way.

Gouache: I love you, but why do you dry so fast?! Anyone else constantly battling the clock? ⏳🎨

What I wish every beginner artist knew about comparing themselves to others is that every artist's journey is unique. Focus on your own growth and progress, and celebrate your individual milestones.

The ‘Oops’ Moments: That feeling when you accidentally ruin a painting with one wrong stroke... but then you remember—gouache can be used opaquely to fix anything! ✨ 😅 Who else loves the versatility of gouache?

Anyone else feel like color mixing is like a science experiment? One drop too many and you’ve created something unidentifiable! 😂🎨

If you want to make it as an artist, stop waiting for inspiration to strike. Start creating, and inspiration will find you in the process.

What I wish every beginner artist knew about fear is that it's a normal part of being creative. Rather than allowing it to stop you, use it as a driving force to push through and challenge yourself.

3 things I do every day to keep my shit together as an artist:
1) Practice patience with my progress—I acknowledge that growth takes time and remind myself to be patient with my journey, celebrating each small step forward

Most people don’t know this, but building an artist’s career isn’t just about talent. While skill opens doors, it’s persistence, adaptability, and the courage to keep learning that truly shape success. Talent may spark the journey, but resilience keeps the fire burning. 🔥

If I could go back and change one thing, I’d make decisions bolder and faster. Those who iterate, test, and adapt quickly—without getting stuck in overthinking—find progress and results so much sooner.

Here’s the truth about making it as an artist: you need endless patience and the grit to get up every time you stumble. It’s not just talent; it’s the determination to keep going, to improve, and to believe in your vision, even when you’ve been knocked down more times than you can count. 💪

Feeling nostalgic for the epic Norwegian landscapes that first drew me into gouache. These scenes are from my recent travels - places that stayed with me long after I packed up my paints. Some of these pieces mark the beginning of my gouache journey. Hope you enjoy them! 🌱

Artists, I wish I knew this sooner: it’s easy to lose the joy in painting when you focus on the 'shoulds' instead of your true passions. When I leaned back into what I loved painting, the joy came rushing back. Follow your passion; that's where the magic lives. ✨

Hi, I'm Luisa, I'm an artist, and I'm looking for people who
- follow their passions
- crave a bit of peace & quiet
- need sunlight and warmth to fully function ☀️
- grow through challenges
- want to create a life that blooms with color and joy 🌸 🌱

Chasing that elusive creative flow while painting? It’ll find you when you follow your curiosity, your passion, and what genuinely brings you joy. Trust the process—it knows the way! 🎨✨

Artists! I'm curious, which part brings you more happiness—the process or the finished painting? Or is it really both? 🎨

A moment of appreciation for my painting: "Monet's Window". 🌱 🪟

This piece marked a huge turning point for me — my first piece in a new style, new medium, new series and honestly, the beginning of a new art journey. ✨

My #gouache process explained:
1) I started with colored pencil, carefully distinguishing between the pink petals and the green leaves.
2) Next step was building up the layers of gouache from the lightest shades to the deepest tones.

Artists! What would your art look like if you painted what you truly wanted, not what you felt you ‘should’ create?

My answer ⬇️

A year ago, mornings felt like dragging myself through a heavy gray haze. I didn't want to get out of bed, didn't want to force myself to do things that would only drain me further.
