New Page day!

A full pager that's red as hell, showing the world outside the prison of Quod-Quell.

What viewers don't see is the many pieces of paper where I've tried to sketch out a rough map of the planet's orbit so these kinda views are (hopefully!) consistent.

🔴 iteatsplanets.com/page/55 🔴
Two prisoners stand at the edge of a metal walkway of a large industrial structure, one over the railing upon the precipice. Beyond them the ocean meets the horizon, stained by a blood red horizon. Behind the clouds, a dark sky is host to the red tinged silhouettes of a nearby gas giant, its rings and a moon with artificial lights upon its surface.

The prisoner on the precipice says "Nobody gets out."

If we're all agreed that skill-based matchmaking is A Bad Thing, then I want to be parachuted into the final of every esport tournament on the planet, regardless of whether or not I've heard of the game.

I’ve always loved GDC. I went every year for 13 years. I’ve made some of my closest friends at GDC. I met my wife at GDC. I’ve struck life-changing business deals at GDC. I’ve always been inspired, motivated and rejuvenated by GDC.

This AI slop promo video makes me hate GDC.

GB News is not a commercial media company. It is a far-right propaganda outlet that does not even try to operate on profit/loss terms, but is paid for to the tune of tens of millions of pounds a year by its rich extremist backers.

If it wasn't it would have shut down long ago.

Yeah okay, you win, he wouldn't even get close to something that looks like work.

It's his partying nature that makes him vulnerable to such grifts, sadly. He doesn't have time to explore or understand the intricacies of AI. If somebody hands him something that promises to do hard work for him so there's more time for parties and pizza, he's gonna snap that up no questions asked.

Michelangelo would totally use AI, but Donatello? They can fuck right off.

I only just got around to finishing Donkey Kong Bananza. One of the best games of the year, but... those sure are some poorly-judged difficulty spikes in the last hour or two, huh.

MOVIE TRIVIA: The Land Before Time is actually a prequel that takes place 65 million years before the events of Pulp Fiction.

International Lesbian Day?

You can celebrate by checking out this dyke's comic, complimenting my new jacket and wishing me well on tonight's date 😌👉👉 iteatsplanets.com
Artwork of a heavily scarred three armed woman in shorts and a torn vest, brandishing a small black handgun in her third hand. Her clothes are black and red, her mullet is dyed a pale blonde and the words "Pride Month" are printed on her vest with the font darkening at the edges on each line until the central letters in red spell out "Demon". Picture of Samantha in a teal/cyan motorcycle racing jacket with varioys Yamaha patches.

Ooh, date! Hope it goes well (and yes, the jacket is cool).

I have a cameo in the new issue of SFX, in the form of a Hell Is Us review! Always cool to have something I've written in there.

...they've kicked themselves in the nuts with an underwhelming showing for CoD, and a staggeringly high price rise for Game Pass. These factors, and the embarrassment of riches in terms of upcoming releases, make it easier than ever to spend your money elsewhere. (2/2)

Microsoft remains on the BDS list, and this is simultaneously the most effective and easiest time of year to avoid pouring money into Xbox products. They have tentacles in multiple releases coming up... but so do many other companies. There are so many other games to choose from. Besides.... (1/2)

This is 100% Pikmin. In fact, one of the replies to this spotted an easily-missed Pikmin in the far background at one point, and provided a clip as evidence. Question is, is this related to a game or a movie?

The thing about this is, is this is how born-rich people *already* do it - whether it's making art, or starting a business, or whatever they successfully do. They already know it works.

Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:
www.citizensinformation.ie/en/employmen...
Post from Threads user rodneyowl: "Ireland has declared the Basic Income for Artists scheme permanent. This will be officially announced in tomorrow’s budget. Details to follow. Congratulations to all who fought for it and the present and future artists of all sorts in Ireland. That includes me 👌We’re just comin to the end of a 3 year pilot scheme. It’s been a roaring success. For every €1 paid out to the 2000 participants, the government got €1.46 back. Can’t argue with that. Other countries are already taking note."

Not gonna link it, but I just read my first news piece that spoke about skill-based matchmaking as an objectively bad thing. Not an op-ed, but *a news piece*. Disappointing and infuriating in equal measure.

Oh, the PSVR 2 is waayyy too expensive, I only got it in the end because I knew I could earn back the cost (which I did, and a bit more, shortly before review work dried up). It's a very nice bit of kit that I adore, but I wouldn't recommend anybody buy it without a deep discount.
