Still thinking about Do The Right Thing, a truly excellent film I watched for the first time last night. Added a lot of Spike Lee films to my watchlist after this, his work is a real blind spot of mine boxd.it/buo9UX
A ★★★★★ review of Do the Right Thing (1989)
Wow, this is a stunner of a film. That sucker punch twist was incredible - shocking and powerful. Characters are superb, the writing is immense, the whole thing looks amazing, and the important themes...

I’ve now seen 3 David Lynch films - his unofficial ‘LA Trilogy’: Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive and Inland Empire. what an eclectic filmmaker. dark, surreal, ambiguous, full of challenging ideas and themes and indecipherable narratives. Can’t wait to dive into more of his filmography

Finally, long-overdue, watched 2001: A Space Odyssey. Impossible to condense my thoughts on this… An absolute marvel, seemingly impossible in its 1960s construction, a masterwork from Stanley Kubrick. Going to delve into hours of special features for this one

I’ve been reading around the genre/concept I’m writing a novel in and getting disheartened by how good other people have done it, thinking I can’t possibly live up to this quality.

How do you combat those feelings, #writers? #WritingCommunity
