It sounds like you've had some difficult experiences in the past. Trusting new healthcare providers must be difficult after that. I hope you find a kind, caring clinician in your new location!

I would encourage patients to bring their prior tests and doctor's notes to their new doctor. But also be open to critical examination of old data. If the prior clinician did their job well, then the same diagnoses and treatments should result.

Counterpoint: challenging prior diagnoses is good practice for a new provider. It is a chance for a fresh perspective and may result in the reduction of unnecessary diagnoses, tests, and medications.

I'm squarely in the deterrence camp. We tried olive branches with Biden and look where we landed. I suspect there's a huge appetite in the out-party for deterrence. There's likely to be a lot of Democratic primary juice to be squeezed from red-faced voters who are tired of turning the other cheek.

Or should D's be forward-looking and focus on solving real problems, for real people. And not spend political capital trying to winch back authoritarian gains?
