yeah. i think it's maybe kind of useless to give advice about style like this. ultimately you should do whatever feels intuitively comfortable to you in the moment. and that won't always be the same. you should respond to whatever the story needs from you at each step

i get stressed out whenever i write large blocks of just talking and nothing happening. but i think it's like a stylistic thing that you can choose to do or not depending on what feels comfiest for you

i cut most of my dialog in half like this but i think i do it mostly to have a character take an action within the break while talking to preserve the feeling of motion
