There is really a connection between extreme thinness as a beauty ideal and conservatism.. I had an eating disorder for most of my life and I was only beginning to get better. I urge people in this industry specifically to be careful, because we are judged on our appearance so harshly..

I also feel like the clients who are present on bluesky are a lot more socially conscious and kind. We've all told everyone that our X accounts were getting banned.. I keep using this account no matter how little engagement I get lol

On another hand, I don't feel like I have to censor myself as much and sell a fantasy in the same way. I wish most clients understood the political, social and economic reasons for most of us to be in this industry, and still feel comfortable booking us and encouraging us.

I feel like bluesky as a platform makes me feel so much safer as a SW than any others. A lot of clients don't want to use it because they perceive it as "woke" (imagine using this term in a pejorative way). On one hand I wish more clients were seeking us here.. (🧵)
