FF7 Rebirth Director Hamaguchi says they didn’t have to do much to redevelop Nibelheim since they’ve gone back to the village several times, including in Crisis Core, so through years it’s slowly been expanded out. What they did have to expand massively is the level of detail. (1/2) #FF7R

FFVII Rebirth Director Hamaguchi says that as well as scale, they also wanted to ensure connectivity with other games in the series. For example, there were some parts added to the area in CRISIS CORE. They wanted to pull from those in order to make the games feel consistent (SE, 2/5) #FF7R

FFVII Rebirth Director Naoki Hamaguchi thinks that being such a big fan of the OG is a trap in that if he puts too much of his feelings as just a fan and what he'd want to see, it's quite dangerous because it could become a fan-made project in that sense. (FGS, 12/19) #FF7R #FFVII #FinalFantasy

Loveless was invented by FFVII's art director, Yūsuke Naora. For CCFF7, the team decided to use it as a way to strengthen Genesis's character, so they asked Naora what it was about. Naora's response: "I forgot." Kitase gave the same response, so they had to reconstruct it themselves. (Gamaga, 7/07)
