And yes most of the 5th season of the show was a complete snoozefest, but the show hadn't been truly great for close to 9 years. I thought the final episode was... ok, in that context. :p

I don't think that is an entirely fair comparison. It wasn't good by any stretch, but in the end it was just a fine show, with a fantastic first season, that overstayed its welcome by many, many years. GoT had 8 seasons over 8 years and an engaged fanbase, so that last season hit us like a truck.

This is why games like Fallout are particularly interesting. You can play the game and become a radical trans leftist (hi), or a selfish fascist just based on how you see yourself in that world. Actually it's part of what puts me off of most post-apocalyptic fiction in general.

So it's a bit of power fantasy, or a way to dream about becoming more than human. The actual political commentary and satire just exist as world building and flavor for some people, and take secondary importance at best.

Yes. I think a lot of it is based on a selfish fantasy. "This technology would be cool for me. It would make my life easier and make me happy." And the dystopian elements are often presented in a way where the main character is able to escape and overcome them. "I would be able to escape this."

I mean you can watch his video if you'd like. He names the technique he used to enhance Andromeda. In the end it's a real photo but it is enhanced. Regardless he is open about his process.

I had to check because I wasn't sure. I'm glad the photographer was open about the techniques used to make the galaxy + sprites pop like that, because it does look like just photoshop if you don't know better...

Yeah, Israel is already trying to carve up Gaza and sell it to investors, while thousands of Palestinians lie under the rubble. But drawing attention to this makes some people offended, so I guess we should just shut up then. 🙄
