We paddled for 5 days on the Green River in Utah, with support of 3 guides. We had mediation, yoga, and mindfulness practices daily. We were cooked for and cared for with love. I met friends for life.

I just got back from a life-changing trip with True North Treks, an org focused on young cancer survivors.

Though I have met my fundraising goal, I would love to continue to pay it forward for someone else to go.

I’ll make sure we add you into any additional attempts! Feel like no one wants to take accountability (is it the office of safety? health and wellness? the transportation folks?) Because we don’t go for safe routes to school money, it’s hard to pin someone or a dept down. It’s like no one wants it.

Sooo angry and heartbroken about this. Rebecca and I have been on countless meetings trying to just find out who at CPS
to talk to because CDOT can’t even get someone at CPS to work with them! These kids deserve so much better. 💗

Heartbreaking story from this morning. A 9 year old hit & killed while crossing the street in front of their CPS school by another parent.

Will never stop fighting for *citywide* safe streets infrastructure around schools in Chicago. These kids deserve better!

Pros:
-LFT south of downtown has shade! Native plants! It was lovely!
-I charged up our battery while eating lunch at MSI
-Time spent with my kiddo but the path is always so loud from the cars, so convos are hard.

Cons:
-the headwind sucked this AM
-the heat
-the stupid war planes

Achievement unlocked: rode to & from MSI today! I’ve been wanting to do this for years & finally just went for it. I was always worried I would run out of battery, but I charged up at MSI. Also worried about my legs being tired after, but made it

27 miles riding + 9,000 steps walking at the museum💪
