Part of the problem is that the poor airline staff has to deal with so many belligerent passengers that they must pick their battles. Years ago, they’d ask once, and if they didn’t comply, they would make them move their belongings or get off the plane. People are so inconsiderate these days!

But why would anyone remove a nonpartisan Archivist? What could she possibly do that Trump would care about?!? Oh… that’s right… the Archivist receives the official record of presidential Electors and the certified Electoral Votes for President from the states.
