A common myth is that our voting equipment is connected to the Internet and is therefore vulnerable to hacking, fraud, etc. FACT: In Illinois, the equipment we use to make our selections and cast our ballot are NEVER connected to the Internet.

Any non-citizens considering voting are deterred by a very high likelihood of detection and harsh criminal penalties. FACT: Most registered voters who are flagged as potential non-citizens turn out to be rightfully-registered citizen voters.

The Fair Maps Illinois initiative to pass a 2026 Redistricting Amendment is unrelated to the ongoing battles over U.S. Congressional district maps. Fair maps in Illinois will increase representation, voter engagement, and accountability. Reach out to learn more. www.lwvckcil.com

The 2026 Redistricting Amendment would amend the Illinois Constitution to result in fairer Illinois Legislative District maps following the decennial census in 2030.This amendment would have no impact on US Congressional districts.

Gerrymandering has an ugly history of excluding and silencing minority voices. The 2026 Redistricting Amendment will bring fair maps to the Illinois General Assembly. It is unrelated to the ongoing U.S. Congressional redistricting battles.
