BG: started this years ago, hated it and hid it in my closet. pulled it back out right before my name change and gave it the attention that i couldn’t give it back then

BG: wanted to turn a hoodie i rarely wore into an art piece. the project’s scope quickly spiraled out of control, but i kept at it anyway. ended up teaching myself new skills and getting out of my comfort zone. it really helped me loosen up w/ my perfectionism; i had a lot of fun

the snake (ring-necked snake) is a sort of patch that i cut out, stitched the seam allowance down for a nice edge, then stitched to the hoodie. everything is hand sewn bc my sewing machine is my arch nemesis or smth

(2/2): it went viral on tiktok by the next morning. the subsequent flood of attention utterly overwhelmed me and i proceeded to avoid posting for the next 8 months. really didn’t expect to dislike it so much, but my art made it to pinterest so small victories ig

background/history (1/2): drew this while on mushrooms for the first time. i was on a trip w/ 2 friends in Winthrop, WA; they were watching Everything Everywhere All At Once while i sat in a dark corner. it was peaceful.
